Ingredients

  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp neutral oil
  • Zest and juice of 3 tangerines
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 2 tbsp cannabis-infused sesame oil (~5mg THC per tbsp)
  • 3 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • Sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds, to serve

How to make it

  1. 1

Toss tofu cubes with cornstarch and a pinch of salt.

  2. 2

Pan-fry in neutral oil until golden and crispy on all sides, about 8 minutes; transfer to a plate.

  3. 3

In the same pan, simmer tangerine juice, zest, soy, vinegar, sugar, ginger, garlic, and chili flakes for 4–5 minutes until syrupy.

  4. 4

Remove the pan from the heat—important—then whisk in the cannabis-infused sesame oil.

  5. 5

Return tofu to the pan and toss to coat in glaze.

  6. 6

Serve over jasmine rice with scallions and sesame seeds.

Cooking tips

  • Pulling the pan off the heat before adding infused oil preserves THC.
  • Pair with Pineapple Express or Tangie for a doubled-up tropical citrus profile.
  • Want extra crunch? Air-fry the cornstarched tofu at 400°F for 12 minutes.

Why this pairing works

Limonene — in your strain and on your plate

The brightest terpene on our list, limonene is the citrus engine behind sativa-leaning, mood-elevating strains. It pairs naturally with bright, acidic dishes and works beautifully as a daytime, social terpene.
